NEW ARRIVALS!

OOH! Just in time to spend that cash you got for Christmas, the folks at Lilly have given us something NEW to covet! FUN!

Bowen Dress Embroidered ($298). Oh, I love this! What you can't see from far away is that there are darling little FISH in the embroidery. I really love this dress. Navy is SUCH a great color too. Super fabulous.

Lara Dress Printed ($248). This print is SO charming. I love the whole palm tree theme and it looks like it would be a flattering dress on most anyone. Good job, Lilly! Good job!

Seamus Dress Colorblocked ($298). We all know and love the Seamus. I'm just glad they listened and are giving it to us in so many different patterns! While Dirty Shirley remains my personal favorite, I have to say I LOVE this print. When I tried this dress on, it looked like I should be hosting some sort of fabulous cocktail party at my home in Palm Springs. Never mind that I don't have a home in Palm Springs.

I am so happy with the newest arrivals! What do you think? Are you going to pick up a piece or two or wait for the next collection?

Lilly gets a little work done!

If you've visited the Lilly Pulitzer site today, you may have noticed something new. The whole site! The header is all new as well as the icons. I really like the new look. What do you think?

Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Lilly!

Although those words don't usually go together in your mind, the Fashion Valley Lilly Pulitzer boutique is teaming up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Ronald McDonald House to host a special day of shopping and sharing at Lilly!

Here is a little more information about the Holiday Party: For 30 years, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of San Diego has been providing a Holiday Party, a break from illness, for hundreds of families of children with blood cancers. It is a day to forget their troubles and reunite with the community of families like theirs.

Ronald McDonald House is partnering with LLS for the second time. This means that together, we will also be hosting their patients and families, some staying in San Diego, far away from home, while a child in their family is in the hospital. Let's help make them feel the holiday spirit, too! This year we will host over 300 child patients and their often overlooked siblings, to lunch, crafts, fun entertainment, raffles and Santa, with gifts for everyone at the Sheraton Hotel. Everything must be donated, no funds are taken from the Society's mission to find a cure.

This sounds like such a lovely event! If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping by this event on Monday, November 30!

Warehouse Sale THIS WEEK!

Hello friends! Many of you will be attending the OFFICIAL Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale later this week in Pennsylvania. While I am just a tad too far to make it in myself (only around 3000 miles away...), I am excited to see what everyone brings back and what the experience was like.

I am tentatively planning to make the Spring 2010 Warehouse Sale next year, so watch out King of Prussia!

Will you be going to the sale? What are you hoping to find there? Lilly Lovers want to know!

While we are on the topic of sales and Lilly Pulitzer, many Lilly Lovers were VERY unhappy with the very first online Lilly sale. Lilly's Facebook page was inundated with negative comments: "This isn't a good sale, guys. Only a handful of things in a few sizes available. If you're going to promote heavily, you gotta have the stuff to back it up. Badly done." and "are you kidding I just woke up for this?" were just a few of them.

I signed on at 4:35a (7:35 EST), and was surprised by the limited selection. The prices were also a little higher than I expected. I suppose with the huge email campaign they put out I thought it may have been a bigger deal. Having said that, I hope that Lilly continues to provide Lilly Lovers with a chance to buy directly from them, and at a discount. Everyone loves to save money, especially in the current economy. Many Lilly Lovers picked up items they had been eyeing for ages such as the gorgeous Seamus dress and Kassidy dresses. There were also the exquisite jeweled clutches. The turquoise one retailed for $850 and was $249 during the sale. Now, that's a sale!

What are your thoughts on the first-ever Lilly run online sale? Were you amazed by the selection and prices or did the whole thing sort of disappoint? Lilly Lovers want to know!!!!

RE-LILLY Video Contest!

This is VERY exciting. Lilly is holding a video contest to coincide with "America Recycles Week" and the Reduce, Reuse, Re-Lilly movement! From what Janie says in the video below and some information on the Lilly site, to enter you must film a clip (less than two minutes long) explaining how you plan to reuse your Lilly in the future. It doesn't have to be professional, just a simple video.

I am sure an email will come out with more details and the official rules. How exciting! The prizes are as follows:

REDUCE PRIZE: Five winners get their choice of an Originals tote.
REUSE PRIZE: Three winners get a piece from the Originals collection in THREE prints!
RE-LILLY GRAND PRIZE: One lucky winner gets TEN shifts! EGADS! Lucky girl!

Doesn't this sound SO fun?! I really want to enter. Here is Janie with her old pieces and what she plans to do with them (PS: Do you think her hair always looks that good or do you think she has it done for these on-screen appearances? Just wondering!):

JUBILEE SALE!!!!

HOLY COW! This is REALLY exciting! This Thursday Lilly is having a BIG FINALE to the Jubilee year by hosting the FIRST EVER online sale on the Lilly website!!!! This is HUGE! Alas, for us West Coasters, the sale starts at 4a. You know what? I am setting my alarm for 3:30!!!! I will be honest, I think this is a smart move for Lilly. I always thought the warehouse sale should be held online. That way, people all over the US could get some great deals! The labor would probably sour the deal (someone needs to package and mail all those orders). It was a good thought, though. Wasn't it?

Will you partake in the online sale excitement? Are there any pieces you missed out on the first time around?! I really want the Lovell Engineered shift that Janie wore on the Martha show! What are you hoping will be on sale?

Lilly Weekend!

Hello friends! This weekend was the VERY exciting Lilly in-store event at the Fashion Valley mall in San Diego. One of the front windows was painted for "Lilly Goes Green" (see above) with the fun new logo!

Mira from Lilly Pulitzer headquarters was there and was so helpful and fun. There was a trunk show with all the fun new pieces and I tried just about every piece on! There was also champagne, snacks and coffee. The store was full and of course the Originals were looking snazzy!

I ended up buying the MUST HAVE Worth Shift in the Not-So-Crabby print:

As well as the Tradewind Capri in the What the Shell? print:

The Worth shift is SUCH a great piece. Very Lilly and very darling. The Tradewinds capris are different from the other capris I own from Lilly. The fabric is really thick and they feel very comfortable. I LOVE my purchases. Of course the coming shipments are going to be DARLING too! There are some really fun tunics and dresses and I am super excited about the swimsuits being sold as separates now!

The other items on my newly revised Originals wish list include the Roselyn skirt in the Aquamarine in the Slim print:

The Tradewind capri in the Not So Crabby print (SO darling!):

Lastly, I LOVE the Memsey dress. I haven't had a chance to try it on yet, but the lace detailing and cap sleeves are too adorable.

In the store this weekend I also saw they had the NEW ornaments in stock including a new set of "Oh Shift!" ornaments. Very cute. I had an AWESOME time at the event this weekend. They had EVERYTHING! I was really glad I picked up my very favorite pieces this weekend because a quick glance online showed me that Originals pieces are selling out fast! BOTH items I bought at Fashion Valley are sold out online in my size! EGADS! That's no joke!

I am simply floating on a Lilly happy cloud since the event. Have you purchased any of the Originals line? What are your faves???

EXCITING LILLY SCOOP! (Lilly Goes Green and the NEW LILLY CAR!)

The very latest from Lilly? America Recycles Week and the NEW LILLY CAR! Electric and starting at $12,995! Where do I sign up?!? No, seriously. I've been thinking about getting a new car. WHERE DO I SIGN UP?!? There is a LOT of exciting news in this post! Let's get started! The latest, straight from Lilly:

PALM BEACH, FL – Beginning this November, Lilly Pulitzer is launching a year-long “Lilly Loves Green” campaign. Following the brand’s 50th Anniversary “Jubilee”, the launch of Lilly Pulitzer’s year of green comes perfectly timed with America Recycles Week, which runs from November 8th to the 15th. Lilly has never repeated a print in 50 years, and this time their signature prints will raise funding and awareness for important green causes.

Looking back over 50 years, what really makes people smile are the old Lillys. Not wrinkled and old. But worn and loved and just eeking good stories. They have a memory of a vacation to somewhere sunburnt and wonderful. A mom saved them for her children. Or a cousin wore them, passed them to a neighbor who is packing and saving them for a sister.

They’re meant to be recycled! Fortunately people have been recycling Lilly Pulitzer for years, whether passing it along to future generations to enjoy, or searching consignment stores for pieces they know will last for decades. So Lilly Pulitzer is introducing a capsule of items that are just that…the “Originals” collection. Launching in tandem with America Recycles Week, they embody everything that’s treasured about Lilly and will be here for generations to come, in the hopes that wearers will enjoy them to the fullest and then pass them along. In other words… Reduce.

Reuse.
Re-Lilly.

The Lilly Pulitzer Resort collection features one print called “In the Slim”, inspired by an iconic Slim Aarons fashion photograph taken in 1964 for the pages of Town & Country. Modern day “Originals” Kick and Kyra Kennedy, daughters of Bobby Kennedy Jr., carry on the family tradition by modeling “Originals” styles in Lilly Pulitzer’s Resort campaign. They are following in the footsteps of “original” Lilly fans, Jackie, Kathleen and her mother, Rose Kennedy. The Kennedy gals even donated all of their modeling fees to family-founded Riverkeeper Foundation, an organization dedicated to keeping the Hudson River as green as possible. Beyond being “sustainable” in concept, the collection itself is also eco-friendly: All hangtags and in-garment labels are made of 100% recycled material. The collection is officially endorsed by Cotton Inc., and the dye process in which the garments are printed is internationally certified as using low-impact dye, eliminating any harmful byproducts.

The common recycling statistics are out. An aluminum can take 500 years to break down. A glass bottle can take 1000. Did you know Americans throw out an average of 68lbs of clothing a year? Lilly Pulitzer is enlisting its customers to help recycle clothing, by donating it to a very worthy cause. Someone in need of something special…and Lilly’s got just the group! Meet The Princess Project. A 100% volunteer effort and non-profit organization solely devoted to putting smiles on girls’ faces. They provide free dresses and accessories to high school girls who could not otherwise afford them to wear to one of the most memorable nights in a girl’s life…prom. Lilly Pulitzer is inviting customers nationwide to dive into their closets to recycle for mother earth and an incredibly good cause… Between November 8th and 15th, customers are asked to donate “gently worn” special occasion dresses (old prom, bridesmaid and other one-hit wonders in the closets!) to help make memories for some deserving young girls! The giving goes both ways…for every dress donated, customers receive a $10 credit towards your next “Originals” purchase. Bring dresses to your favorite participating Lilly Pulitzer store or send to [Lilly Pulitzer for The Princess Project 800 Third Avenue, King of Prussia, PA 19406] Lilly Pulitzer will be packaging and sending all donations from its headquarters (affectionately known as the Pink Palace) and stores to The Princess Palace!

If that weren’t enough to kick off a year of eco-chic activity…what’s pink, printed…and “green” all over? Lilly Pulitzer’s new electric car! Many are out there zipping around in traffic-stopping Lilly Jeep Wranglers, but the folks at Lilly Pulitzer couldn’t very well spend a year loving green and great causes that support our environment, without offering a new form of transportation that fit the bill. It’s affectionately referred to as an E-LILLY by Tomberlin Automotive Group. It’s 100% road worthy, charges with any standard 110v household outlet, and travels for over 30 miles on a single charge. The E-Lilly can be customized with just about anything you want…2-seat, 4-seat, golf bag, trunk and more… even a monogram, and will deliver just in time for the holidays! Prices start at $12,995 for the standard E-LILLY. However, if purchased before December 31, 2009, the buyer is eligible for a tax credit from the federal government! The Lilly Loves Green campaign has just begun, stay tuned for future seasons raising awareness for endangered species, buying local and more.

WOW! Let's review. Lilly is doing their part for the environment, helping girls' smile, AND the new Lilly car can be plugged into the wall socket?! Now, if that doesn't make your day, I don't know what would.

VERY exciting news here at Lilly Lovers today! VERY exciting indeed!!!!

The MURFEE has arrived!

There has been lots of chatter about this new piece from Resort, the Murfee scarf. Available in three different prints, it appears to be very popular and is flying off the shelves!

I had the oppurtunity to see the Murfee scarf at the Fashion Valley Lilly store and was really, well....not that impressed. It's quite soft and comes in darling prints but I suppose I was expecting a more WARM scarf. This one is more for decoration. Worn to look chic rather than worn to stay warm. Ah, well. To each their own. I wouldn't be upset if one of these turned up under my Christmas tree.

The three patterns of the Murfee are:

Surf Blue Checking In

Lilly's Pink Checking In

Lilly's Pink Grand Scale Access

Which of these patterns do you like the best? I think I like Lilly's Pink Grand Scale Access best. Will you be picking up the Murfee this season?

Originals Update!

The ORIGINALS collection is finally available from the Lilly Pulitzer site! To celebrate this exciting event Lilly has some very cool images on the website! Above is the official "we've got Originals!" announcement.

Classic Prints: A closeup of the Worth shift! I LOVE this pattern! It is a rendering of the famous "ladies in a fountain" photograph from the 60s.

Vintage Silhouettes: I love what they did with the picture of Lilly with the background in grey.

Recycled From Generation to Generation: This is really neat! The image features Rose and Kathleen Kennedy in shifts in the 60s and then Kick and Kyra Kennedy in their Worth shifts!!! How lovely.

Reduce. Reuse. ReLilly! Lilly as heirlooms! I certainly don't think of mine that way, but at the same time, I never throw them out! Maybe I DO think of them as heirlooms and don't know it!

Are you as excited about Originals as I am?!?

Attention Southern California Lilly Lovers!!!

Hello friends! This weekend I had the honor of visiting the ONLY Lilly Pulitzer owned boutique in California in the famous FASHION VALLEY mall. It's always a treat when I can visit them and this visit was especially fabulous since they just got all their BRAND NEW Resort/Originals line in stock!

I had so much fun looking at it all in the pristine and beautiful store, but I am waiting to try it all on. Why would I do that?!? Well, because they are having a VERY special event IN-STORE on November 7!!!!

They will be having a special in-store event featuring a special guest from Lilly Pulitzer who will be doing one-on-one appointments with Lilly Lovers to determine which styles are best for your body type. Doesn't that sound fantastic?!? Not only that, as you can see above there is a special gift with purchase with ANY Resort ladies purchase!!!! What is better than getting a gift just for treating yourself to some Lilly???

But wait! There is MORE! There will be a print designer on hand to sketch you a custom print for you to keep! Doesn't this sound like just the greatest event of all time?!? Especially for those of us that are Lilly-deprived on the West Coast. Fabulous.

Of course there are only so many hours in the day, so the appointments will be filling up fast. I have already scheduled mine! If you wish to attend this exclusive event, please call Lilly Pulitzer at Fashion Valley at 619-491-0050. Tell them Muffy sent you! Maybe I can see you there?? I wouldn't miss it for the WORLD!

It's HERE! It's HERE! RESORT IS HERE AT LAST!

I really need to calm down. This level of excitement is just too high. I may sprain something. Today, I woke up and KNEW I needed to wear my FAVORITE Lilly dress from AGES ago. I knew I had too much to do at work and if I wore it, things would be terrific!

Of course, the magic of my favorite Lilly is working! C. Orrico has posted photos from Resort, in a few Lilly stores NOW! Here are a sampling of the choices on the C. Orrico site:

LOVE this dress. Very vintage Lilly. FAB. Memsey Dress.

This is my MUST HAVE from this collection. This is the piece you buy the second you see it in case it sells out. LOVE this dress. Worth shift.

This print is very retro. LOVE the palm trees. LOVE THEM! Also a Worth shift. Look at that lace detailing!

Some more great items:

This pencil case REALLY is "ORIGINAL"! I love this idea and I MUST get this as well!

I love a good tote bag. How darling is this one?!?

Are the pieces are fabulous as you had expected?!? I am VERY pleased with what I have seen so far. I was concerned, as my anticipation was quite high, but I am very satisfied with everything. I can't wait to see them in store!
